The TECNO Camon 12 Pro is TECNO Mobile’s latest addition into the Camon series. This is particularly exciting for me as a Photographer because the Camon series has always been TECNO Mobile’s camera flagship.

On that note, I got sent a test unit(no box or accessories) of the Camon 12 Pro from TECNO Mobile a couple of weeks to the launch to go on an assignment where I create images that are to be exhibited during the launch of the device in Lagos. As at the time of publishing this post, the Camon 12 Pro would have already launched. In other words, here are my first impressions and quick reviews of the Camon 12 Pro.
First off, the Camon 12 Pro looks and feels similar to the Phantom 9 in a lot of ways.
The Camon 12 Pro has the volume rockers and power button to the right-hand side of the phone, with the speaker grill to the bottom left and headphone jack to the bottom right and the USB/charging port down at the middle.
The left-hand side of the Camon 12 Pro sees a new orange colored button addition which enables you power google assistant instantly. And just above this button is the SIM Card slot/micro SD slot.
The Camon 12 Pro comes in a 6.4 AMOLED display with an HD resolution of 720 by 1548. And yes, that is a little drop in resolution compared to what we had on the Phantom 9.
For cameras, The Camon 12 Pro spots a Triple AI camera set up at the back which is beginning to become a pretty standard TECNO thing now. This camera set up combines a 16MP + a 2MP and 8MP secondary cameras. This respectively serves as a standard camera, a super wide and then, a macro and bokeh effect camera all coming with a quad flash. On the front side, we have 32MP AI front-facing camera with dual flash.
The Camon 12 Pro is powered by 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and on the battery side, we have a 4000mAh. The battery side is another area I am particularly happy about because that is a notch than what we have on the Phantom 9.
The Camon series has always been TECNO Mobile’s flagship in terms of camera and from my outing shooting the photo assignment for TECNO Mobile, I can already tell that the camera is a little better than that of the Phanom 9 even though both camera specs are exactly the same. Although, no major differences per se, perhaps, only a photographer might be able to tell. if I were to make a buying decision between both devices solely based on camera qualities, the Camon 12 Pro will without a doubt be my pick.
Also, the Phantom 9 is ordinarily a very light weighted smartphone but the Camon 12 Pro is even lighter with a curvier finish at the back that makes it really enjoyable to hold. Although, I’d still recommend rocking with a case.
Other than these, there’s really nothing new about the Camon 12 Pro and I hope to this extent, this post was useful in helping you learn about the new TECNO Camon 12 Pro.
I am currently doing a giveaway of the Camon 11 Pro on my Youtube Channel HERE. Go see how you can win.
